Sons of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the American Legion were represented at the dedication ceremony.
Florida State Vice Regent Kay Yarbrough, brought greetings from Florida State Society DAR.
Rev. Dr. William Ziegenfus brought greetings from the Sons of the American Revolution.
Mayor pro tem Chris Hoffman brought greetings from the City of Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
Scott Grant, local historian, told the story of the S.S. Gulfamerica and thanked the Daughters of the American Revolution for honoring the nineteen victims of the attack.
Dot Permenter, member of Jean Ribault Chapter and associate member of Ponte Vedra Chapter,
related her memories as a child witnessing the attack from the beach.
The DAR Marker Dedication Ritual was read by Chaplain Jane White (Ponte Vedra), Regent Linda Brenner (Jean Ribault), Regent Judy Delmar (Ponte Vedra), and Chaplain Ann Lester (Jean Ribault).

Following the dedication ceremony, a reception was hosted by the Beaches History Museum.
